Research, Hydrogen & Innovation
Applied research. From laboratory to plant. IAT carries out contract research and builds prototypes for companies that want to move a technology from test bench to operation.

What we do
IAT's applied research stems from its recognition as Qualified laboratory no. 343, published in the Italian Official Gazette no. 249/1985, and today covers contract R&D, funding applications and prototype development.
Active lines cover hydrogen technologies and fuel cells, repowering of internal-combustion vehicles, welding materials and processes, measurement and monitoring systems, waste-treatment technologies and food technology, including the OXY-PRO active packaging platform.
Services

- New formulations of traditional Mediterranean-diet products
Research services
- Contract research and development
- Applications for research and innovation funding
The problems we address
- 01
“I have a laboratory-stage technology and need to know whether and how to bring it to plant scale.”
- 02
“I want to integrate hydrogen or fuel cells into a process or fleet and need an independent technical assessment.”
- 03
“I need to submit a research project for a funding call and need a qualified technical partner.”
- 04
“I want to extend a food product's shelf life without preservatives.”
How IAT works
- Technical independence: we assess technologies, we do not sell them.
- From laboratory to plant: real-world operation is the criterion.
- Integration with safety, ATEX, fire and permitting to make the prototype approvable.

Regulatory framework
- Applicable ISO/IEC and UNI standards for hydrogen and fuel-cell systems (e.g. ISO 22734, IEC 62282 series)
- ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and Legislative Decree 81/2008 Title XI
References are indicative. Each engagement is framed on the regulations in force at the time of appointment.
